I was lucky enough to attend a nature photography workshop with Richard Bernabe a week ago in the Smokey Mountains. All us work-shoppers had a great time with an amazing leader. This is one of Richard's favorite spots. I'm sure you can see why. I'll add a few more shots from the workshop in the comming days. Comments and suggestionas are always welcome.

Nikon D90, 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 lens at 19mm f/18, 1.0 sec. shutter speed, ISO 200, tripod, with polarizer filter.

Looks like Richard showed you a great spot. Nice choice of shutter speed, the water looks great. Perhaps a higher perspective wouldn't have squished the mid-ground so much.

Hi, Walt. What a great opportunity you had with the combination of the Smoky Mtns and Richard Bernabe for a workshop leader! Sweet deal.
I like the photo, especially the falls right at my feet. Nice reflections in the water, too. I have trouble sometimes with perspective from the widest angle lenses such as you were using. To me it looks like the landscape is tipped downward toward the viewer. Perhaps that's the way it really was and what you intended to show. But it makes me feel like I'm about to be awash and away to the bottom of wherever those falls end up.

Really like the foreground element, sort of wish the background green were a little darker and/or more saturated.

FG looks good (though i wish for a tiny bit more to see a little further where the falls are going). top half seems a little washed out??

The water portion of the image looks good, but I agree about the top section being washed out. Possibly crop the image to include a minimal amout of trees, or double process this image to get a better bkgd.

Nice comp Walt. Yes, I agree the BG is a bit faded, and in my opinion perhaps a bit busy??The flow is nice but chopping off the bottom of the falls gives the image an 'end of the road" feel to it. But I was not there so I have no idea what other comp you could have gotten.

Some great suggestions above, but you've got to love that cascade! Congrats on the workshop, sounds like great fun.

Wow! Great comments. Thanks. Now I have a lot of tinkering I can do with this shot.
