Kalaloch

Dusk along Kalaloch Beach of Olympic NP, Wa. This is a rework of this image previously posted. Utilized quite a few of the invaluable ideas and workflow techniques suggested by many NPN members. The sunset on this evening was phenomenal. No seastacks, no real landmarks but the designs in the sand and the color were amazing. Hopefully the beauty of this evening comes across to some degree in this image.
4x5, 210mm, 81B, Velvia 100, f32, 1sec. TK masks and others utilized.

Large image provided.

Your thoughts and comments always appreciated.
Thanks.

Oh my.......does it come across? Heck to the yes! Fabulous image Vance and your photography has inspired me. Sensuous textures and almost metallic colors. This would be amazing in super gloss.
Thanks for sharing

Vance,

I'm with Bill - that is some intense color! And beyond that, I think it's great how you just focused primarily on the tidal stream which has all the neat patterns and lines to explore. Great work as always.

Dazzling! I really like the purple reflected light in the foreground. The horizon placement is perfect.

I used to live only miles from here, Vance. It was almost 20 years ago when I was still struggling at seeing things out in the field. While I'm not even sure if I would be prescient enough to see this yet today, it reminds that there is good light no matter where we live. It was so hard for me to find pictures in the NW, but now I know I just didn't know how to look. Your images are always an inspiration of how beautiful our local light can be. This is just incredible. Also, I hope I can flourish photographically like you when I retire.
