False Hellebore (Veratrum viride), from a previous post

Alaska, summer of '07, along the Mineral Creek trail near Valdez. I mistook it for skunk cabbage. I fell in love with the pleated leaves and b/w image of this (highly) poisonous plant. C & C welcome.

F/9, 1/60, ISO 100, D200 w 18-200mmVR @ 65mm. HH, full frame. Reprocessed in LR3 beta2 and CS4. B/W by conversion.

I like the attempt at a creative look at this often photographed species but I prefer the lush green of it. That being said, I'm getting a little tired of photos of this species as they all seem the same so keep up with the creative avenues on showing it off! :toast:

It's nice to see some B&W in the 10 Year Gallery. I see
why this is one of your favorites. Well done, Philip.

Beautiful shot Phil. Love the comp, the conversion and the lines.

Stunning b/w image Phil. The contrast and the incredible tones and lines are superb.
