I have not been able to get out shooting much at all this year. I have been fortunate enough to have a lot of work from last year to post. Also revisiting some older files to have a fresh go at the processing, and presentations. This is from 2008, Bonsai Rock, Eastern Shore, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts. A larger version included as well.

D200,
18-70mm,
GND,

Thanks,
Chris

Wonderful shot, Chris. Can't think of any improvements here (and I love to nit-pick a little :)). A different approach with a very long shutter speed would have been interesting too.

A wonderful image Chris, with great detail and color. I can't help but throw a compliment your way - your images and processing skills have improved so much over the last 1-2 years - kudos to you for putting forth the effort to make that happen!

Nice image; looks good all around. You were lucky to have a colorful sunset. I've wanted to visit this place ever since seeing Elizabeth Carmel's shot of it a few years ago.

Looks like a pretty windy day and the lake surface is quite rough. Great sky and nice comp. Well done, Chris.

Beautiful take on a familiar subject. The color in the sky is a perfect accent to the rock and water. Very nice!

That's a huge rock. Your processing looks fantastic, but its hard to tell the scale of the scene. This is high quality workmanship Chris. You are one of the best. :wavey:

The rock really holds my eye. It's like an island of stability with lots of other elements floating around it.

Chris,

A lovely Tahoe scene and a beautiful job with capture and processing. A great job with the light/exposure between the rock and the rest of the scene. It's all balanced nicely and naturally.
