Wash Over Me

I know b+w aren't the most popular here but I enjoy them every once in a while. Most wouldn't venture to process a fall image in mono but they can lead to some interesting results. The right filters and conversion can be quite fun for fall images. I tend to put a lot of thought and emotion into them so I hope this translates here. If not I tried...... just don't be too harsh

Thanks again for all your time and comments

This one has an other-worldly feel to it, I like the effect.

Anthony, your photo is an awesome job. Trees have so great detail I can´t figure out there´s some mist around, but I just find this spectacular. Well done b/w processing. :wavey:

It absolutely glows, Anthony. Perfectly done. Can't think of a thing I'd change.

Beautiful, it absolutely glows. I agree a lot of people think it sacrileges to convert an autumn scene to grayscale. Back before digital I had a friend that would confound us by shooting autumn foliage with black and white film, I was always amazed by his results. We're lucky now we can have it both ways

I really like this. It is differnt from most other waterfall and creek photos, including mine.

Is this the Pigeon near Tremont in the Smokies? If it is, it's the most original I've seen.

This is an awesome image. I even like the b/w conversion though I can imagine it would look as great and fantastic with all the colors. Great comp and perspective. Great job.

Really like the upper two third of the image. The b/w works well. I'm not too sure about the falls, think I would have preferred a shorter exposure. A bit too much blurr for my taste. hats off for trying something different

Wow! This is incredible, Anthony. I love the detail in the background trees and your shutter speed was right on for the water. :toast:

Wow Anthony, this is one of those.. "I wish I shot and processed that" images on here. Love it in B&W and everything is absolutely spot on to my eye. Congrats.

I like B&W's, and this one kicks a$$. Of course the water is cool, but the treasure is in the details of the trees.

Phenomenal Anthony. The range of tones and the quality of the light together with your superb composition, make this a stunning image. Absolutely incredible. I wouldn't change a thing. A print with those deep blacks and amazing detail must be a jaw dropper. Fantastic work.

The composition is great; I like both the "in your face" foreground cascade and the way your glow processing works for the background. Well done.

Thanks everyone,
This is the Tremont area. I was planted on a large rock for the composition. The glow isn't really glow but rather the fall colors converted to b+w with touches of dodging and burning. My only wish was a shorter exposure as it's my taste but I think it works here. It definitely is nice to have the ability to have both color and mono on file.

This is simply F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C. I love everything about it, the centered composition, the great details in the falls in the fg, the texture in the water and the other small falls in the mid-ground, and that ethereal light kissing the trees in the bg. I do believe this will look simply breathtaking on a large print. If I'd really like to be nitpicky, I'd say that a bit more of room at the bottom wouldn't hurt. But that's the only thing I can offer as a critique, and I had to look for it for a good while...

Congratulations on this fine piece of photo art.

I would not have thought to convert this myself. But you have managed to do it quite well. This is a great scene, and the glowing appearance works nicely.

It definitely has your touch to it. And I like the way you put your emotion in your processing. I think it does translate, and I like the mood and feel of this one very much. :toast:
