Purple Sandpipers

I took a trip down to a local beach, Little Beach at Berwick upon Tweed, there is usually a decent population of purple Sandpipers, I've been trying to get some flight shots of them.

Canon 40D, Canon 500mm f4 lens, f5, 1/2500sec, ISO 500

How delightful. I love how the birds are interacting with their environment. A little more DOF might have been nice but the light makes this image come alive.

Very nice captured. You have all three birds in a flying position. Looks like they are searching for food.

Like this Ron, I like that you got 3 birds together like this the odd number makes the scene very pleasing on the eye.
