GBH Takeoff

Since I'm flying out tomorrow for Mass. I thought this would be fitting. I was waiting at a nearby lake for the Osprey to show up back in June, and found this GBH on the end of a fishing pier, getting ready to do a little fishing itself. And boy did it, it caught 2 huge fish in a span of about 15 mins. and swallowed them both whole. It was amazing as I'd never seen them eat such a large fish before. I got the whole sequence of both, and will post more when I get back.

C&C welcomed and appreciated.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas now as I won't be online until I get back. Hope we all get the new gear we want!!

Very nice image, I like a lot the arch of the body and legs . Heron appears almost stylized.

Doug, nice comp and I like the bird's position. Maybe just a bit of canvas added to the front would make it stronger, but nice as it is.

Great detail - perfect dof and shutter speed to catch the action.

Doug

I like how you captured this bird in flight, the pose is very interesting and I don't think I have ever seen a GBH posted in this pose before.

A little canvas in the front might provide a stronger comp, but I also like this as is.
