Common Mergansers

More from my merganser files. I wish the lighting wasn't quite so harsh. Didn't take a chance on moving in any closer, so I handheld from the boat and made this image. Right after, they all plopped into the water. I tried several times to post a larger photo but I kept getting an error.
Taken on Kinzua Reservoir, in Western Pennsylvania.
Comments Always welcome, Janet

The lighting is quite harsh here Janet . I might have staked out this group of Mergs later in the day when the sun went lower, but of course I don't know if there were still around then !
Email me in private and we'll figure out your uploading problem for next time.

Hi Janet,
I like this composition. The light could be better but you captured that moment very well.
Nicely done! :toast:

Now that's a bunch of mergansers! I once counted 11 little ones with one female at the Nisqually reserve. You already know about the light, but thanks for posting anyway!

Janet

You have mentioned the light and I agree it is a bit harsh, but I enjoy this bevy of beautiful mergansers all lined up like they are.
