Fires in the greater Yellowstone area created some unique conditions for the fall. Wanted to post one such shot.

For me, the smoke takes away from the image somewhat, but there's still so very nice fall color there.

Ron,
From your description, sounds like the fires were current and creating smoky conditions? Or did previous fires allow the growth of new vegetation allowing for this display of fall color? I think you mean the former.
Love the color here although I'm not sure the slightly smoky air is helping this. I think this tells a great story of how the plant life has managed to grab hold in the fan, or what looks like was once quite a talus slope and the color display is quite nice. I do like the balance between the rocky cliffs and the fan out of all the autumn vegetation.
If it were mine, I might consider nuetralizing the magenta in the rocks - at least they look slight magenta to me. Still, a very nice image from Yellowstone.

Sorry for any confusion. This was taken last fall in the Tetons. There was 1 wildfire in Yellowstone, the 3 in the Tetons. So, there was a lot of smoke in the sky.
