Hi all

First of all thanks for your opinions and suggestions

During our trip to Alaska to photograph autumn, mount denali gave us a precious gift after a heavy morning storm. The colors of the taiga after the rain were awesome and the clouds crossing the range divided the mountain from the ground creating a beatiful atmosphere.

Focal lenght 70mm
ISO 100
f/16
Canon EOS 5D
Canon EF 70-200 f/4L USM
NDG (3 stops)
Polarizer
Tripod

Best regards

Grand scenery. The mountain rising up through the clouds is majestic. The light on the mountain is also splendid.

Impressive image, Roberto. The size of the mountain is almost unimaginable. The sense of scale here along with the great comp and light makes for a very impressive image.

An epic landscape shot showing the scale of this great mountain. The only nits would be a little right heavy in the comp and maybe a touch too much blue.

Hi Roberto, maybe this is your best shot from that trip. The contrast between the brownish foreground and the blueish background colors are outstanding. I think this is once in a lifetime picture and you must feel lucky to have witnessed this spectacle. :toast:

Wow... talk about massive! You almost don't notice the bigger mountain and then suddenly...BAM, it looms into the sky. Fantastic way to convey the sense of scale. Humility is the only word I can think of that describes my emotional response. Wonderful.

I sure love that mountain! Been to the top twice. This is one fine image of the High One! Great lighting and color through out. The layer of clouds is perfectly placed. I really dig the juxtaposition of the warm FG colors and cool colors in the upper portion. My favorite little feature may be the lone trees silhouetted against light patches in the distance.

Robert,

What a GRAND Denali landscape. It's almost a rare treat to see this much of the mountain. Great balance between the tundra (and there's a name for the forest too, but it escapes me) and the mountain. It's so huge it's truly amazing how it dwarfs the landscape, but so difficult to convey unless you've been there and seen it.

Not really a nit, but my suggestions would be some continued processing. I with the foreground were a little brighter, but I understand it's under cloud cover. I would also play with the contrast in the background mountain range, McKinley and the clouds. Also, maybe pull a little blue out of the shadows. But those are all just suggestions and personal preferences as well.

What a sight! Congrats on this capture.

Excellent!
One of the best Denali images I've seen.
I agree with pulling some of the blues from the shadowed area. This will help keep the bulk of the mountain separate from the similarly colored skies.
