This has definitely been shot before. I was scouting conditions for some upcoming workshops I'm leading and noticed the conditions were perfect in this location. We don't often get clear days like this when the pear trees are at their peak bloom. I couldn't resist

Perfect conditions indeed. The jpeg compression isn't helping this out, but I expect it's flawless at full size. I much prefer looking at this instead of the blizzard outside my window right now.

I see what you mean, there are some compression artifacts, unfortunately I had to compress this more than usual to get it under 200kb. Yes, the original is flawless. I'm very impressed with the 5D Mark II so far.

Wow, Zack! Is this from this past weekend? We were in HR and saw Mt. Hood from Parkdale (we were on the train ride) and NOTHING was in bloom there. I'm surprised this field was. Do you mind emailing me where this is? I'm just curious which side has flowers right now.

Man, this, the Gorge, the tulips, flowers in PDX, it's all happening too fast!

I hope to be back in the Gorge next week, BTW.

Kevin

Hey Kevin, this was taken on tuesday this week after the warm weekend. I'll email you the directions. This is in Hood River which is lower than Parkdale so it blooms a bit earlier.

I'd dare anyone with a camera to stand in this spot and NOT take a photo. When all the elements line up as perfect as this, it would be a hard one to pass up. Well done.

Cool colors and scene. The mountain and barn sure look good.

I'm with Kenn, I much prefer looking at this than the snow outside here in Alberta!

Lovely capture of a spring scene.
