I took this image in September of 2006 just north of the New Mexico-Colorado border near San Luis, Colorado. I was standing on an old one lane bridge above the Rio Grande, looking north towards the Sierra Blanca group of Fourteener’s in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (Blood of Christ Mountains). The fading sun lit up the distance hills this great shade of red. What a night!
Canon 5D, 70-200 f/4L. Polarizer and 2-stop soft neutral density filter. Tripod. Mirror lock up. Remote shutter release. Contrast and saturation adjustments in photoshop.
