Sunrise on Sparks Lane

The dogwood bloom is one of the most beautiful expressions of spring. On this April morning I made my way to Sparks Lane and began a photographic study of the trees along the gravel road. With the crisp air and sounds of wildlife, Sparks Lane is an amazing place in the pre-dawn light. But when the sun popped over the ridges surrounding Cades Cove, it momentarily lit up the trees along the road with a warm glow. It was such a wonderful way to begin a day of discovery.
