From the early days of family camping trips in the eastern U.S., I have always loved the outdoors. In the late 1990's, I got serious about birding. Learning to identify birds by sight and sound was challenging, but also very rewarding. Yet words could just not do justice in describing the beautiful bird species and habitats I found them in, so I turned to photography as a means of capturing this beauty to share with others.
Well, it's funny how life goes sometimes. While reading every photography article I could get my hands, I slowly learned to see LIGHT and the amazing affect it has on the landscape. So, while bird photography is still one of my primary goals, I have developed an interest and deep appreciation for all things nature. My hope is that some of my images will stir the same emotions in others, that I myself feel when taking them.
