I took up photography again in late 2005, I needed another addiction to replace the one I had to give up. I was born on Trafalgar day (see if you can get the date) and I am a little over fifty; so I'm not quite a classic yet. My photo mentors are primarily Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell. I currently live in Southern California with my wife of 26 years and my daughter who is currently taking a photography class.
I have purchased a cabin in the Aberdeen resort which is located between Independence and Big Pine in the Owens Valley. So many of my photos are taken there, I take whatever nature offers me from sweeping grand vistas to individual animals or plants. I do plan many of my photo trips based on the weather and I'm hooked on the NOAA website. Another favorite place of mine is Yosemite, but you can't beat the Palos Verdes Penisula for Sunsets. I have been a member of the San Pedro Arts Assoc and the Art Alliance of Idyllwild. This is a very tough time to get started in photography, but I'm passionate about it, but very inexperienced and I have allot to learn, that's why I joined this group
