I love shooting baby animals and this kind of frame always existed in the mind but was unable to capture it. About ten years later, after acquiring a 500mm lens, it was executed.

Canon EOS 33, 500mm lens and home-made beanbag.

I'm very encouraged with the response of first post, it is heartening to see, how people manage to observe fine details some times overlooked by the photographer himself or visualise an improvement not imagined before.

Thanking you all and looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers!

This is a great image! I love the baby elephant peering out between the legs. Very artistic. The only thing I would do is clone out the piece of grass in front of the baby elephants eye.

Jagdeep,

another very nice image, very intimate. A pitty is the grass stem just crossing the baby's face, but I consider that minor...

It looks like he's playng to hide&seek in a forest of legs. Nice shoting. Personally I would tried to clone out that grass stem, but ...

Great shot. I think it would be even stronger graphically if you cropped a panal off the top edge, to be left with only the (almost abstract) verticals of trunks and legs, with the wee little one peeking out... :toast:

I do like this, the infant protected by his family it seems. The grass adds texture and color too. Well composed :)

Very nice. I agree with Lon's cropping suggestion - it would make this an even stronger image. There seems to be a little too much cyan in the image though, especially in the grass. And after you have cloned out that grass stem you could also try to clone out that little bright area of green at the top left of the left trunk. Well done.

This is outstanding. Great contrast of the ages. Wouldn't mind seeing a bit of a contrast boost (and perhaps slight reduction in the green channel) to really make it pop, but that is very minor considering the foundation of the image. :toast:

Another great one, Jagdeep! I'm sure you don't need 30 people to tell you about the piece of grass over and over again... I'm sure you get the point (it can be a bit annoying). So with that aside, the composition is great. The grass in general adds a great effect as do the elephants' contrasts.
Great work! :toast:

I love the verticals of trunks and legs that looks like a dense, old growth, impenetrable forest. Or should I say, fortress! Then the cutest little tiny baby elephant face peer out and I think to myself, "Now that is protection. That is saftety!" Thanks for sharing this, it's very inspiring.

A BIG THANKYOU to all my friends here! This was my second post here and BTW I was introduced to this wonderful forum by my friend Ganesh H Shankar, who has been a winner in the macro category.
Earlier I used to think that it is wastage of time, spending time at posting photos as I was least interested in hearing appreciation of work. But I never realised that it could be a great learning experience.
THANKS once again for all your support.
