This was taken with a long lens in horrible light. I used levels to force it to even more of a silhouette, then I cropped into it and used a threshold photo filter to make it lose edge detail. Finally, there is a color gradient applied.

Pete D.

Thanks for the feedback below. I might actually prune the offending limbs and see what I think. It won't be easy, but it is certainly possible - especially if I do the clong before the artistic filtration. Oh, I can also relax the crop quite a bit. This might make the bird shapes more of a pleasant surprise when you find them.

Totally unique Pete. Its art and the colours really suit this without being overpowering IMO. Clever silhouette image and very well thought out M8t. The frame seems to suit the branches well. A very gentle grad for the background.

All the best up your way Pete, fine image and really nice work. :toast: :toast:

I like this Pete - in particular the fact that you didn't clone out the limbs behind the birds.

Pete, IMO, this is one very  graphic. I can just see this as a panel in a free standing shoji screen. I think I'd be first in cline to buy one.

Pete,

That's hot, I like the filter and composition. The lighting feels good I just wish I could see a zoomed out panoramic of this scene with the same filter.

Cheers,

Very cool Pete, some nice work! At first i wasnt sure about the branches interfering with the herons, but i think it makes it a little more mysterious and artsy, more abstract, so it works for me.
