When I saw Arthur's photograph of a male lion here in the Fauna forum I thought I might post another photograph of the same King. Here's a portrait of the King of Blijdorp Zoo toghether with his lovely wife.

Lovely portrait. I love the intense look in the eyes. My only nit is that it appears a bit dark on my monitor.

Wow! The light here is great and there is plenty of DOF to cover both faces. The black background works very well- congrats.

Jasper.. this is NICE! I love the lighting as it gives some true depth to the image - it doesn't look dark here.. but just right to me. Excellent job on the compostion - and - to capture mom and pop is just super!!

A real handsome couple. Although the image looks a bit dark to me in this case I think that it helps to set the mood. The lighting on the lions is wonderful.
