Grimsby, Ontario Canada
Nikon D300 ,Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/13s f/8.0 at 200.0mm iso250
Tripod, no flash, slight crop, levels, sharpening.

A good friend was kind enough to give me this private location where this bird resides a few weeks every year., i didn't have much light, but made the best of it, also used the live view on the d300, and the camera was about 10" above my head, to get a un-obstructed view of the bird.

thanks for looking.

A wonderful image as posted. When I see these small owls I never can get a clean shot like this and I'd be thrilled to have taken this.

That's a wonderful shot Raymond, I love the clean look but in a natural setting and 10 inches over your head at 1/13. Very impressive. :toast:

This is incredibly nice! I have used the "Live View" option on many occasions recently and find it most useful. I envy you though, for now, that AF is a possibility with your equipment.

Congrats on the EP!

Owls are just amazing creatures. This is a great shot of this little creature. Very good use of your equipment to pull off shooting with the camera above your head.
