Taken from the middle of what is normally a lively mountain stream, the water is the rather obvious missing item here.

Very nice, Bill. The image certainly fits the theme. The stream bed looks and feels just a tiny bit damp as though there's just the tiniest trickle of water here and there.

As I few this, I can't help but wonder if this is what we're headed for.

Earlier on the news, I heard remarks concerning an early snow run off and of course that means that water will evaporate all too soon.

In spite of the lack of water, the photograph has a good feel to it as it invites me to climb in and take a hike along the path of the stream. Nice DOF.

Carol

Bill, thanks for contributing. It's nice to see you here :wavey:

Great shot, Bill. Wonderful color and depth to the comp. In a way, the exposed rocky stream bed might make this even more compelling than it would be with the water at normal levels.

I agree with Kerry. This looks really good with the leaves strewn between the rocks, great DOF and a nice exit through the patch of sky. Nice entry!

That's beautiful, Bill, and tells a great story about the seasons or the drought...

Wonderful comp Bill!!! The fg rocks are a great focal 'base' and the empty stream bed leading to the blue sky is just fab. Well structured and well received thru these eyes :toast:

Bill,

This is great. I love the color and the (almost) dry stream bed that leads you to that splash of color at the back. Nice management of your DOF, too.
