Hi Everyone,

I thought it was about time I put my picture on here and let you all know a bit about me. Well, I am 20 years old from Cambridge in the UK. I was diagnosed with a very rare form of stomach cancer when I was 15 which i am still fighting against today 5 1/2 years on. I specialise in flower and macro photography, photography has become my passion and I hope to become a professional soon. Photography has been a great release for me from my very hard everyday life and I love doing it. It also gets me outside with mother nature and her creations and into the fresh air whereas before I was sitting around watching TV.

I really enjoy this site and have met some lovely people in the flora gallery and am very grateful for everyones comments. Two of my pictures have been voted the weeks EP for flora and photo art and I had my first image published in June. Lets hope there will be many more. I am very impressed with everyones photography on here it's a great site!!

See you all out on the site,

Best Wishes

Welcome, Rachel. I'm usually not on the flora or macro site, but I'll keep an eye out for your photographs. I'm 60 with health problems, and photography and being out in nature has done the same for me. I wish you the best with your career and fight with cancer.

Hello Rachel, although I rarely have done any macro/close-up work, I'm intrigued with some of the very fine images posted here at NPN. Good luck with all of your endeavors in life and enjoy the photo opportunities as often as possible. :wavey:

Hello Rachel. it's nice to put a face to a name. I'm glad you posted your story, as I am a survivor of liver cancer and the surgery from that. (January 2007) Your images are great, and I applaud your attitude and desire to become a professional photographer. Mother nature gives a glimpse of her beauty to all who will take the time to look. You do, and I hope all goes well for you in life. See you in Flora! Jeff Mitchell

Pleased to meet you, Rachel! I can see from your beautiful images that I'm not spending enough time in forums besides ES&S and M&N. Best wishes for your health and photography.
