Canon 10D, Sigma 180, F8, fill flash

I couldn't take the way winter was dragging on and took off to the local butterfly house. I forgot to look this one up the species name at the buttefly house- I think it's a butterfly in the monarch (Danaus) family. The Tree Nymph Idea leuconoe is similar, but this is something different.

My first butterfly shot with the Sigma lens...

Excellent. Very nice composition.

I've been told that this is a "Paper Kite"

Absolutely stunning Tom. Its also the curves in the perch that add to this along with that gorgeous background. The butterfly is some fine specimen and again, beautiful M8t.

All the best Tom and 10D  , excellent work and shot.

Danny.
