It looks to me like Velvia did a great job here (gotta love that green). The colors are nice and saturated, and the diagonal of the fence walks my eyes through the entire frame. I do find the white fog/sky distracting here. A slight crop from the top is effective.

Rhos are so beautiful and you have captured them well in this image, Jerry. Rich, vibrant colors along the fence to lead my eye through the image. My only nit...the sky tends to be a bit "whiteout" and I would crop most of it out and therefore, the photo is a stronger presentation. Gotta love the RHOS...

Wow, those are pretty. I really like that fence, too. The colors are so rich. The sky doesn't bother me all that much, but if it was a little darker, it might look more like mist and not distract so much.
Yeah, I agree, love the rhos!

I agree with darkening the sky, but wow, this is lovely the line of the fence with the fullness of the azalea really makes an effective composition.

I went back and reviewed the image, it posted just a little brighter than it should have so I reposted the image. BTW, this sky is fog and fog at 6,000 feet on a relatively bright and sunny day will be white. These are not storm clouds, which are a total different subject at this altitude in the southern Appalachians. This image took approximately 2 hours to get! The fog was cruising by and the wind was gusting from 0 to 20 mph so I needed the fog in the right place as the wind stopped blowing. Finally it happened and I captured this image. This is the cover for my 2005 calendar and the fog makes the perfect background for my title overlay. Check it out on my website at www.jerrygreerphotography.com

Very nice Jerry. I like all the elements you have put together. I do have a small nit, the two flowers along the bottom tucked under the railing in the lower left. To me, it feels even stronger if they were cropped or removed? That is it for nits, a very spectacular image and your patience was well worth it.

Jerry:
This is awesome! Love the vivid colors and diagonal direction of the fence. The foggy background keeps my eyes from drifting off the main subjects.
Lovely in every respect! Thanks for sharing.
