Curves Ahead

This is an image I made a few years ago. I had this image in my head and decided to see if I could pull it off.

No Photoshop magic here. This is an in camera double exposure. The moon was shot facing east with a 400mm lens. 1/100 @ f/11. Then I put on a 24mm, faced south to the Albuquerque city lights, and had my wife drive down this curvy road with her foot on the brake. The second exposure was about 45 seconds. Of all the tries, I liked this one the best.

Interested in your comments and critiques.

Thx.

I think you succeeded =) Seamless integration of the two shots, and well balanced... the moon seems oddly large, but your composition makes it work. Great crisp and vibrant colors on the long exposure as well, all around a very rich shot! Well done :toast:

Neat!!!! It is amazing what one can do. Give your wife an A+ at riding the brake. Her contribution sure adds to the image

I know how difficult this is to do and you've pulled it off beautifully. I like the exagerated size of the moon in relation to the rest of the scene.

Keith, Quite interesting. I like the moon best of all and the red tail lights leading to the city lights help tie all together.

Very nicely done. The moon is superb, and the idea of driving the car slow certainly seems to have paid off. This must be a real beauty full-size!
