Spent the weekend down in the Smokies and the weather was horrible, snow, wind, and rain. I came home and went out this morning and took this and many other images, the weather here is nice and it seems spring is getting it's second wind.

Keen eye Bernie for catching these beautiful green drawings. Excellent work for semplicity, clearness, clean patterns, dynamic composition. I like it very much Bernie.ù
Take care.

Bernie-
Distinct image, excellent composition, great exposure. May I ask why the small aperture? Were the individual leaves that deep in the scene?

Great question Brian and the answer is I don't have a clue  First of all the fern was about 2 ft. away from the camera so yes they were pretty deep into the scene, on the small aperture issue I usually start at about 8 and work down to 22 then scan and delete to find the best one. I really have no rhyme or reason to anything I shoot just trial and error. I am really very bad about recording settings so they could be wrong as well  I don't know if I answered your question or not but now I am confused  Thanks for taking a look. :wavey:

Bernie, what a cool looking image. Sorta looks like the guitar thang John mentioned but could also be something from "ET". Whatever this fern is, this is superbly done! I like this.

Bernie, the lovely light really accentuates the detail and green tones in this fern. A beautiful presentation in what I believe I've heard called the "fiddlehead" stage. :toast:

Bernie,

This is wonderful. I like the green against the black BG and I especially like the fronds curling in different planes.

Beautiful sharpness.

I'm late to show, again, but at least I've figured out that All Photos by button. The curled leaf ends are what makes this photograph interesting to me.
