Ruffled Eagle

I got a kick out of this guy's appearance when the wind would blow and raise his hackles.

Late day, soft light, 10D, 600, 1.4X, ISO 200, Homer AK.

I get a kick out of this one also. A great image and not your everyday run of the mill eagle photo. You could call this the North American Harpy.

Gorgeous image Jim! Nice to see some different angles on the B. Eagles. The stare this guy is giving you, is just incredable.

Neat image.

Is this from the wind, or a threat display?

Hey Rich, Wind. Every once in a while a gust would come up and ruffle his feathers. These eagles don't seem to feel any threat unless you try to pet them

If the wind keeps blowing he may really get "bald".

Jim,
A beautiful shot. I like the framing detail, everything. Maybe you could title this "When eagles get hold of hairdryers nothing good comes out of it".
