Welcome back indeed, and a great first look into your journey. I love the snaking foreground as much as the sky, simply well done. The mountain shadows in the sky put this over the top.
I look forward to seeing the impressions and images you got on your journey, and am intrigued by the departure from your usual spectacular style!
BTW...I saw your group's calendar in a 'Borders' in Mass. Glad you're getting plenty of exposure with that, it is a sight to behold!

As soon as I saw that sky, I could tell it was an Adamus image. I like how the bend in the river frames the reflections of the light rays.

Great work, I will be glad to see some new shots from you and also some new perspectives of the iconic American landscape that get repeated too much. What a great start, this shouts magazine cover all over it. One hotel in 30 days? You must have been one smelly young man camping for so long!

You're a master when you can show your own view of things when compared to the standard fare. There's a reason why many would consider you to be so.
I've seen so many Mount Rundle images, but this one takes the cake for being waaaay different from the norm.

Welcome back Marc! Mike Dawson and I met for lunch awhile back and shared our collective concerns of knowing you were out there in the elements for quite sometime and wondered how well things were going. Glad to see you're back safe and sound and from the looks at this first image you never lost the magical touch out there either. Great image and look forward to any others you can share from this special trip.

Awesome image dude!!! I am envious of your ability to travel and explore unencumbered for so long without all of lifes other priorities (desk job, family, etc...) taking over. Wish I could do the same as you. Definitely a dream of mine... I agree with your assesment that to get the best images of a place you really need to spend time in it and know it well. This has proven true many times in my own photography.

I've never thought of Mount Rundell as a morning spot - been there lots for sunsets, which is the "typical" time you'll see many photogs out along the Vermillion Lakes road. Your capture is truly outstanding - you've raised the bar.

consistent with style and quality - you were fortunate to find as much open water as you had for that image - the S line is a major part of the success story - the killer sky otherwise would not have carried the show by itself - what a wonderful morning - thanks for sharing and welcome back

Marc ... I admire your work. Though I'm not a member of the "back slappin' attaboy club" that lives here. I'm more into useable feedback.
The image strikes me as slighty overdone in the computer... therefore starts to disengage my mind in "believership." The composition is well thought out. The viewer's eye certainly travels well throughout. The floating ice in the foreground anchors or adds to the bottom nicely. It just doesn't quite draw me to wanting to be there in reality ... since "there" doesn't exist but in the computer. Perhaps a little too much HDR, saturation or something.
Otherwise, I continue to enjoy your body of work.

Mark, believe it or not the in-camera image is just as saturated than this is. This was captured in-camera, using a GND filter, and no color adjustment at all. No HDR either. Just a curves to bring out the mountain a bit more. I've since reprocessed this one a bit darker. Any disbelieving on your part is simply a result of you not being there on this morning.
