Blimey Ian thats magnificent, looks like the sky is moving at a 1000 mph. I wonder if you can extract a little more detail from the windmill and shed, the light seems good and soft so i suspect there maybe scope to do so. The only other very small negative is the bright triangle of light bottom dead centre which catches the eye and competes for attention.

That sky is amazing! The whole setting is very nice too. I like the somp with the bridge leading out of frame as well. I do agree that the barn and windmill could be lightened just a touch. Very nicely done. (Although, I always feel like I want windmills facing me, or into the frame, kind of like a wildlife shot - anyone else feel that way?)

Wowzer.
I would like the grass in the foreground to be more in, or out of the pic completely. But that's a small nit to a wonderful shot.

Thank you all so much for your helpful and constructive comments.

This was taken on one of those rare winter days when the wind pushes the cloud along at a breakneck speed. Irresistible!

Ian, I see what you mean on both counts: more detail could be extracted from the mill and the shed; while I can see now that the brighter patch of light at the bottom could be distracting.

David, I agree with you that it would have been better for the windmill to be facing the viewer, but unfortunately I couldn't achieve a good composition from the front.

Thanks, Don, for your comment on the foreground. I'll attempt a crop and see how it appears.

Many thanks, Alice, for your kind welcome to NPN!

Ian: This image would have worked without the long exposure giving the clouds the surreal effect. The composition, color and your long exposure technique all work well together.
