Very impressive scene Salvo. The contrast between the fiery eruption and soothing blue sky is wonderful. Well done.

Sweet!!! I love this comp! You managed to isolate what I feel are the key components with color which emphasizes them all the more. I too would love to now the technical details of the capture if you don't mind sharing.

Hi Salvo!! What an awesome image!! How cool to have been there!!! I love the blue of the evening/night sky against the fiery lava and the dark silhouette of the mountain. (Is it really an afternoon sky?)

I work with a lady named Etna, and this pegs her perfectly . . . though she's not quite this pretty.

A very powerful and dramatic scene, Salvo. Puts one in awe of nature. Since you were very close to the river of magma, did you have any special protection against the heat?

Salvo,

This is an excellent photograph. It is amazing. Perhaps this is why the comments are short. (?) I find your framing very good. Putting that spewing crater up in the left above the steaming/smoking river of lava was a great choice. There is a lot of negative space in this frame, but this is the best use of vast black areas I have ever seen in a photograph.
