Just a weed I found in a field up here...Introduced, invasive, but beautiful!

I've been including a lot in the background recently, and have lower DOF shots of this, but curious as to thoughts?!?! Thanks

ISO 200
Litedisk diffuser

Yes, we have these in IL too. From a botany viewpoint it is great to see the hairy buds and foliage. It works aesthetically for me too.

That bloom is a beauty Jim! The DOF works really well for me. I like it.

Jim, very nice image. Ah, what's in a common name: rough-fruited cinquefoil or sulphur cinquefoil (from Cindy)...sometimes causing confusion across regions but Potentilla recta works for me anywhere!

Best,
Don

The background is well separated from the subject, which is the only reason I would complain about a background. I love the composition with the buds acting as a counterbalance on the opposite third.
