This is an ortonized version of an image taken a couple weeks ago. Take one of us desert rats out of our sand piles and we'll photograph water every time

I love the Orton on this, mystical and really grabs you and holds you in the image

Richard,
The Orton effect is lovely on this already pretty waterfall scene. My only problem with this is that that Orton effect has made that fallen log look a bit less grounded than the soft water already had done so. It looks like it is hanging in mid-air to me. No show stopper, just my opinion. Sorry to hear about the wet sock! I hope you brought a change!

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments :wavey: The true joy this image brings me is just in the memory of being there. One of my favorite places on earth.

What a beautiful way to memorialize a great memory. The technique is perfect. It's amazing seeing all that green after the desert. Great composition, great techs to start with, a truly wonderful piece. :toast: :toast:

Thanks, Marc, Renae and everyone for your kind words. Twenty-five years ago I basically flipped a coin between moving to the NW or the SW since I love them both. Living in Peoria, Il. just wasn't doing it for me. I chose the SW but I travel to the NW at every opportunity. I stll love them both equally and the beauty they hold...
