WC #113 Asian Lady Beetle

This is from last November during our annual "multicolored Asian lady beetle" invasion. Although they are outside most of the year, each fall huge numbers of them seek shelter for the winter and it seems they are especially adapt at getting inside my house.

The background is a sheet of blue paper, had the beetle on the paper so I could maneuver it in front of the camera lens. Taken with a Canon D60, MP-E 65mm at about 4x magnification, Macro Twin flash, tripod. Cropped from the left and bottom, ~75% of full frame, Photoshop levels and USM, also cloned out a hot spot on the left side just behind the head.

Fine sharp details, look at the detail in those eyes. Excellent ratio from the MP-E 65mm of course and the macrolite ??? has done a great job, but one great eye to take the shot, well maybe more than one :toast:
