Yet another version of my favorite image, cropped from the top and right side. The ice between the lamp posts and on the pier is at least 2 feet thick with just a dusting of snow covering it.
I thought we might be lucky enough to have this kind of winter again this year, but we haven't seen snow nor ice since before Christmas. :frown:

Toni I think this is truly a beautiful image. I particullarily like the soft colors and the way you composed this. Overall it is seems a little soft but I'm not sure that I think that is all bad. :toast:

Wow, what a winter dreamland this is Toni! When winter truly looked like winter! I love the overall muted quality to it.

Beautiful, almost magical scene. I love how the red lighthouse is the only "color" in the whites, and the bird is a nice touch. It's a little tight on the left side, but that's a minor nit.

Love it when you post, Toni and this view is no exception! The balanced heavy white mass leading to the focal slender red thread of the lighthouse is terrific! I like that you included the manmade elements of the foreground post - they give context as the eye works toward the distant conclusion. Very effective, well seen and well captured!

(and Yeah for the ME Super - I still use mine...)

Thanks, everyone!

Lee.....Sometimes I wish I still had my ME Super, but I sold it to a beginner...they needed it more than I did.

This photo hasa magical, storybook feel to it; I love the softness of the scene. I too was hoping for lots of snow & ice along the lakeshore :frown: this year.

I agree with the term "magical" - it's like being in another world! Beautiful! I do feel that the exposed post is somewhat noticeable as the only dark item in the picture, but the picture is still wonderful!

Wow, this is unreal. Congrats on the EP pick; like others, I sometimes don't get out and about to the other forums, so I miss glorius shot like this. This is just lovely.
