Have to come back for this image many times. It is just so great!!!
Got a question for you, not really a critique. I am wondering why you didn't crop out the branches on the left bottom corner. It is rather easy to do, you must have a good reason not to do it. Would you like to tell me why you kept that branch? To balance the frame?

Cropping it out would eliminate quite a bit of the frame, something I didn't want to do. In my mind, small birds should be small relative to the frame. Cloning it out would have been quite easy. However, the branch was there to begin with, and does provide a little more habitat to balance the frame and keep the image from being too sterile. And as a rule, I rarely clone.

Hi, Bob,
Thanks for the reply. Actually it was a typo, I meant "clone out" other than "crop out", but you have already answered the question, you don't clone out.
Thanks,
Kai

What a "tidy" little bird, Bob,
What I especially like about the image (over and above the handling of the bird and the background) is the inclusion of the second branch.
