Juvenile Reddish Egret
by Bill Leggett
I'd like to take this opportunity to offer a big thanks to Jim and Donna for their efforts to give us such a valuable website, as well as to our moderators here. FWIW, I'm posting this through the link hosted by the new owners.
The Reddish is not very common around here, but oddly enough the only ones I've ever seen here are juveniles which pass through occasionally. This is from a cloudy morning September 2011 on the beach in Gulfport. Full frame, unfortunately with no more room at the bottom.

5 commentsI'm a little confused by your comment that your "posting this through the link hosted by the new owners"? I'd encourage everyone to complete the new password process in the e-mail outlined by David Kingham that was sent out today. Hopefully you received that e-mail. Posting here will close at midnight on 9/2. All new images should be posted on the new site.
Using the "Archive" link just brings you back to the old NPN site. It is not any different than just posting here as it has been for as long as you've been a member.
Posting on the new site: You have two options within Avian to Post: If you post in the Avian Image Critique, you are asking for critique and input on your image. That is analogous to what we have here in the old site. If you post in the Avian Gallery, you are posting your image just to share, you are not specifically asking for input or critique.

Really nice head turn and eye contact.
