Sword-billed Hummingbird

Here's one from last year's Ecuador trip at Guango Lodge.  I couldn't get the full flower and bird into the shot here so I cropped to just a portait of the Sword-billed.  I thought this was a cool pose.

Vary nice looking Hummingbird.  The coloring and detail really stands out.

Amazing shot and angle. "Evil" comes to my mind - this bird would scare the daylights out of me, if I ware a flower. Great image, Nate devil, Cheers, Hans

Great stop action on this little guy, Nate!  He sure does have one long beak. Wonderful colors and detail.

Very cool pose.  Great detail, wing position, and the OOF green background works.  Great look at that impressive bill!

Nate, you really did well here. Goes to show that less is often much more. I well know the restrictions of fixed glass, and so you made a good choice with framing. The position of the head really emphasizes that long schnoz. Good stuff!

I love the pose, Nate.  I do wish the tail weren't so dark-is it black?

Nice isolated capture Nate. These guys were fun to see but pretty challenging to shoot.
