Southern Tamandua

We had a couple of nice sessions with tamanduas during my recent Brazil tour, but this is the first time I remember having any good opportunities to photograph them at night. Normally I'd certainly prefer a daytime session, but this particular anteater lingered long enough for us to exit our vehicle and nab some shots with the help of a spotlight. The standing pose was a big bonus.

Very cool looking creature Max. Although a dark scene certainly I think you could bring up a tad more light on the just the subject itself. Neat capture.

Interesting image, Max.  I wondered about the lighting when I first opened it.  I like the effect.

Hi Max,

This is an interesting shot. It is very dark, but I can see good details in the tamandua. What a fun critter to see..................Jim

I didn't think much of this shot until I looked at the larger version.  Way to take advantage of the situation.  Very well done high ISO shot.

Max: nicely done in tough conditions. It's always a bonus to get a photo of a rarely seen creature and even moreso given its unusual pose. Richard
