My Last One....for Now

This is the same first year male  ruby-throated hummingbird as in my previous post.  The flower is obedient plant Physostegia species. There's also a small ant (Crematogaster species) that photo-bombed my attempt.  That's OK, ants are cool!  I used my 5 flash system with the flashes set to fire on the subjects and BG at 1/32 power. The trigger flash mounted above and  off camera was set at 1/64 power. Lighting turned out well and this one is going up on the wall! D500 600 mm f4 +1.4x TC (1/250 sec at f16, Iso 640). Full frame, DeNoise, rubber stamp tool for getting rid of OOF gnats and extra highlights in the eye, Levels, shadows & Highlights, Brightness & Contrast, TK's sharpening for the web. Thanks for looking.............................Jim

Jim, I think this one features my favorite composition of the bunch.  The two subjects are spaced nicely in the frame, and the bird's pose is perfect.

Another spectacular hummer image, Jim. The hummer is perfectly placed in the frame. This should make a fine print.

Both the hummingbird and the flower are excellent with great color and detail plus the simple composition is very effective.  Love what you're doing with that flash setup!

Beautiful job on this one Jim.  I had been following your posts and was going to comment to reduce the power on the on camera flash but you figured that out on your own.  I often set my flash on camera at 1/128 because I want as little light coming from that flash as possible so as not to cause shadows.  Lovely, balanced comp here. devil
