Swainson's Thrush
by Dennis Plank
One from a week ago. I had a juvenile of this species coming to my blind pond last year on a pretty regular basis, but this is the first and only one I've seen at the ponds this year. It didn't hang around too long, unfortunately. I'm still hearing it out there, so maybe it will give me another opportunity this summer.
7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, tripod with ball head and sidekick, f/8, 1/200, iso 2000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV. Processed in LR & PS CC. Cropped to 17.4 MP. Taken at 8:18 am on August 3rd.
Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

4 commentsIt is difficult to get one of these birds out in the open and in fairly descent lighting. The BG is interesting, and I wish that it were darker to go with a more forest type setting that this bird prefers. But, that's what nature gave so its a very minor nit. The thrush is nice and sharp with excellent color. Well done........................Jim
I think the Thrush pops nicely for the back-ground. I also has nice coloring and detail.
