Dark-eyed Junco

These are year round residents at our place and fairly easy to photograph, but they've always seemed to be exceptionally photogenic to me.  I have a largish slab of rock propped up to form a central bathing area in the larger pond in front of my blind, but for some reason, it's rarely used.  This Juvenile Junco found it just fine a couple of days ago and I really liked the looks of the water.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 388 mm, tripod with ball head and Sidekick, f/8, 1/320, iso 1600, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 16.8 MP at arbitrary proportions with a bit of canvas added on the bottom using the content aware crop function.  Taken August 6th at 11:35 am under hazy skies.

Your comments are appreciated.

Thanks,

Nice shot of this juvie junco Denis.  Lots of good detail in the bird, and I too like how the water looks.  The bird's reflection is very nice.  Looks refreshing!  We too have juncos year round, but a lot more in winter.

Excellent water here.  I am enjoying the Junco and trying to think cool thoughts.

Hi Dennis
This is a really nice looking Junco.  The water ripples and reflection make the shot.
