Tricolored Heron

Wow David, I must say that you really nailed this one! Fine choice of exposure, timing of the action with the wing position and choice of small aperture get it all sharp. And that catch is icing on the cake. This is commendable work that should make you proud. Maybe more room on the right would be desirable, but personally knowing their stalking behavior it's likely that, if you're like me, I would not have allowed for more space over there (I've done that many times). Still works great at 6x7 aspect, and a fine image,

Excellent; perfect timing and nailed the exposure. The composition is just a bit centered for my taste but that's a very minor nit on a great shot.

This is very nice David.  Great exposure and shutter speed allowing you to stop the action of the bird and fish.  I also really like the stop action of the front of the wave.  Looks like the bird is using it's wings to balance and stabilize itself against the force of the wave.  Never seen a heron "surf fishing" like this, but then I don't get to the coast very often.  Wonderful image!

I love the breaking wave, Dave.  The Heron is beautifully sharp and the action is superb.  Very well done.

Excellent action shot, David!  The wave action and the fish in the beak are both big bonuses.  Great detail and presence in the large image!  Well done!
