Along Opal Creek

The leading lines and color of the rock led me into this view along Opal Creek.  The clarity and freshness of this area is amazing.  Bigger is definitely better - please view the larger version.  Thanks!

Technically very well done, SS is perfect for me and it is hard to freeze foliage at 3 sec. so very nice work.
It seems like 2 photos to me, the FG is very nice and the creek and forest are very nice.
They don't really meld for me in this one.

The colors in the creek and the lush greens are amazing. I think I agree with Dan. They are nice leading lines but I think the top half of the photo is much more interesting, great even. I think a almost square crop down from the top would work well.

I see what my brother and Dan are saying, but this works just fine for me as posted, Ned. This is so inviting and lush that I feel as though I am there in person enjoying this scene. Beautifully done.

I agree with the comments and suggestions. A square crop of the upper section is a superior image. In fact, it's a really good image.   I would crop at the top of the sand. The small rock should have ample space below it. It will add interest to the fg.

Thank you for the feedback!  I see now what you are all saying - I think it would make a great, square-copped image too.  I'll see about printing this up as I would love to have this on the wall with the others.

Lots of nice details to pull me into the view.  I especially like the opaque water deeper into the image.  Does have a magical feel.  Very minor, wish there was a little more room on the right next to the bush.

This looks like a lovely, quiet spot, Ned.  The touch of green in the pool's water looks great.  The larger view is a notable improvement with much better detail.  While this looks very good (and very inviting) as presented, I too could see cropping most of the sandy area at the bottom to increase the focus on the pool and the canyon heading into the distance as an alternative.  That would give you two significantly different views, both of which are good.

Ned, The foreground is really interesting but I do agree with others that the upper half is wonderful on it's own. Cropping below the lower bush on the right looks to work pretty nice. I do like what you did here and see why you included the foreground so this image can work both ways. The mood of the upper half is just wonderful.
