Misdirection

So Igor mentioned that he was getting a little bored with all of my Tetons photos so I thought I would change it up a bit (Just giving you a hard time, Igor!).  sad crying

This photo may or may not be from a well-known spot in Grand Teton National Park.  Bonus points go out to anyone who can guess the location.

I was drawn to the sweeping lines in the virga in the clouds and the way that they framed the distant mountain.  I knew that I wanted to go for a big sky kind of shot because of the clouds.

Capture Info:
40 mm
f/16 @ 1/50 sec.  ISO 100

Processing Info:
I'm pretty predictable - TK's luminosity masks, triple play actions and saturation masks.

I’ve been sittin here trying to identify that quiet slough and the distant peak and I can’t hazard a guess.  I do like the  sky and the gentle sweep of the slough.  Could be your looking east from Oxbow bend instead of west and the classic view or somewhere in that area.

I, too, have been looking at this image and trying to figure where it could be. I'm not that familiar with the Snake River in the Jackson Hole area. The closest place that comes to mind is the Yellowstone River near the Hayden Valley area but the banks aren't as steep.

This image is a bit cooler than your recent images which gives it a sense of an impending storm. The tree on the left is a nice addition. Perhaps giving it more space on the left would have been nice.

Nice big frame shot and I have no idea where...
I think it could be warmed up a tad.

This is nice, Brian. If I had to be super nit-picky, I think I would add a little space to the left of the tree. The clouds are awesome, glad you gave them dominance.

I have no idea as for the location, but I do very much like the scene you captured, Brian. The clouds are flat out fantastic and add some wonderful drama to the scene and the sweeping curve of water helps draw me into the landscape. I too could see a bit of warmth added, but that is all subjective as this works nicely as is.Beautifully done.

Brian, you've got a great collection of greens and blues here in a nicely moody view.  The virga falling from the clouds is a neat addition.  I think some dodging of the land to let the greens glow a bit more would add nicely.

This is a really wonderful photograph. I love the tones and colors that you have depicted. The light too is so interesting, both in the clouds and the ground/water.

Brian, Wow, This is really beautiful. I love the quiet and wonderfully peaceful mood. Really nice work and the larger version is a joy to view!
