I'm testing out a 600mm f4 lens and its pretty amazing.  The kingbirds have a nest near the pond so they have been willing test subjects.  They beat up some grackles that were trying to raid their nest this morning. D500 600mm f4g  (1/640 sec at f5.0, Iso 640). Levels, DeNoise, crop for comp (10x8).............................Jim

Fine soft light, pose and detail, Jim. With that lens you'll get some fine images of the smaller birds. Looking forward to more.

Beautiful capture of this Kingbird, Jim.  I love the soft light and that nice background, to show him up so nicely.  Great detail in the subject too.

Great results with the new lens Jim. I sold my long lens a couple of months ago, the birding's done here.
Take good care of that baby & she'll serve you well I'm sure.crying

Nice crop with superb composition including the wonderful background.  I definitely prefer this one to the more recently posted Eastern Kingbird image.  I do agree with Nate about taking a tiny bit off the top.
