Horned Lark

Another one from up on Red Knot Hill.  This Horned Lark was moderately accommodating, just going about its business and letting me approach within a fairly reasonable distance.  When it perched on this rock I was able to get a good angle by getting down low.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held lying down, f/8, 1/4000, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 7.6 MP.  Taken at 9:28 am on June 7th.

Your comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Great pose from this fellow! Nice environment, head turn,  back view and low angle.
You're ALWAYS lying down on the job!  cool

Hey Dennis,
Sweet environment, pose, lighting and background with excellent placement of the subject in the composition.
Textbook image, well done . . .  laugh

Great background, head turn and lighting here Dennis, I would crop about half of the foreground rock off of the bottom.  With that camera I would have dropped the iso down a bit considering how much speed you had.  devil
