Hummer Theme Continued

Most of my best backgrounds do seem to be hummingbird shots since they inhabit the garden at the peak season.  This one was taken back in 2009 when we planted some sweet peas in one of the beds and I put up this hummingbird size branch for them to perch on.  I reprocessed this today.

40D, 500 mm f4 ISL + 1.4 TC, Jobu Gimbal on Gitzo legs, f/8, 1/100, iso 500, aperture priority, partial metering.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 5.6 MP.  Taken July 18th, 2009 at 6:05 am.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Beautiful BG Dennis. I really like how the flowers are arranged to help frame the hummer.  The hummer is also really great.  Nice color, detail, pose, look, perch.  It is all very good!

Great BG and pose - seems just a little "flat" from here - maybe a tad more contrast would help.
Sweet!

Dennis, the details in the hummer are quite striking.  It's a delightful change of pace that the background is more colorful than the bird (subject).  A great take.

I like this Dennis.  Good job with the background; one can just tell that these are pea flowers.  Nice composition in detail on the foreground.
