Texas State Bird

I captured this mockingbird in my back yard. I liked the detail in the feathers and the smooth green background, which was some distant shrubbery. Processed with Lightroom, Photoshop and Lightzone. Comments and critiques welcome.

Beautiful capture of this mockingbird, Jerry! They should be NC's state bird, as we have an abundance of them. They chase other birds out of our yard, which doesn't make me happy. Great BG and perch.

With good reason Jerry. I've been seeing them everywhere this week from Fort Davis to South Padre Island. This rendition is great. Great sharpness and colors all around.

Very nice detail and I like the pose, Jerry. As you say, the bg is wonderful. I'd be tempted to bring down the highlights and raise the overall exposure in the RAW editor to reduce the effect of that bright spot on the upper breast.

Nice head turn on this Jerry and I like the contrasting BG which makes this pop a bit. It looks like you had some tough shadows and light to contend with and you handled it well.
