Location - Mt. Etjo Namibia, 3 hours northwest of Windhoek
Equipment Nikon D800, Lens Nikon 300mm fixed

These cheetahs look like ghosts coming out of the tall grasses. I was able to capture the detailed face of this young cheetah that had been feeding on warthog. It was part of a group of three of them that had been feasting. Their eyes are mesmerizing. May sound ugh, but the blood features around the mouth and above the eyes drew me to focusing tight on it's face. I printed this image on metallic. I love all the wildlife of Namibia so astounding.

I love the intense look of concentration and the blood stain about the nose and face. Wonderful capture.devil

Great close-up of the cheetah.  They do have an intents stare.   Colors and details are right on!  Like the story behind the image.  thanks for sharing.

Jan, this is likely stunning printed on metal.  When you use the entire frame for the face with little space around some would suggest more room, especially to allow for traditional mat/frame. This presentation really makes one study eyes, nose....and blood!

Very nice in your face square crop image.  Lots of eye contact and impact.  The bloody muzzle really adds to the image
