Another from Asilomar Beach State Park in Pacific Grove, CA.  This bird was foraging on the rocks one morning and gave me a number of interesting shots, but I liked the slightly goofy look of the bird at this angle.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 562 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/400, iso 4000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2/3 EV (to avoid blowing out the legs).  Procesed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to a 14.7 MP 4x5.  Taken at 7:33 am on March 10th.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks for taking a look,

A quality capture and processing. The 3/4 turn really adds dimension to the image. The raised foot makes the moment happen.devil

great shot, low level , the movement of the foot in this shot makes it all the more interesting

The low angle makes this stand out Dennis. The feather detail in the Oystercatcher is very sharp. The pose of it coming towards you with the raised leg is great. Well separated from the bg too. Nice!

Great pose with good color and detail throughout.  I like the angle you shot it at; gives a sense it is coming at you.

Really nice image of this fellow. Sharp detail, especially in the blacks, great pose, complimentary BG.
Well-done - hope I can find some here this year. they are very scarce
