Another sandstone image from northern AZ around the first of Feb. The fins in the area are crazy and don't even seem possible. I stacked a couple of images for DofF.

Great find, Harley. I agree, erosion is pretty amazing given "a liberal allowance of time" to quote Edward Abbey. One of my favorite destinations being in Capitol Gorge is loaded with it.

Those are cool, especially at the juncture of the two surfaces and with the wavy colors. I could see applying a bump in brightness and contrast.

That's really good Harley! I love the contrasting lines.

WOW, this one is just a super find here, Harley......
You've really posted some wonderful takes recently all from this one area I assume. This for me might be the best, so far anyway......
Many folks might have missed this one in the field. It pays to keep a keen eye open looking up, down, and sideways when trekking around.......
btw: I could also see a tiny bit of contrast/sat/vib maybe for another look.....

Another great image, Harley. I seem to like the ones with diagonal curves a lot more than the straight line comps. It's easy to play with colors and saturation here and make this a true abstract but I like this very much the way it is.

It must have been fun exploring all of the different lines, textures and colors. The composition in this image has a lot of energy with the repeated diagonals. Another excellent image in this series!

Beautiful natural artwork which has been well seen and captured. Give the sculptor my compliments.

Harley, this one crazy formation, and I really liked how you composed this one. It almost looks like a macro shot of a seashell or something. I also like how you kept the saturation of colors restrained here, to let the viewer focus on the wonderful lines, shapes and textures in this image.

Such a cool shot. So many interesting aspects to this. My favorite section is the center left where the horizontal colors intersect the fins.

Wow, this is awesome. Well balanced composition with the wavy split between the two surfaces nicely positioned. Exquisite lines, textures and colors. Would make a great print for your hallway : o ). This is the best of this series IMO.

Great find, Harley. Really like the junction of the diagonals and the horizontal lines; the colors are a beauty too.

Great find and capture Harley. Love the fins and how you incorporated the "base" for a fine composition. Also appreciate your tempered processing with color/sat - rich, but real.
This reminds me of one of the creatures in the original Jurasic Park where "Newman" (sorry don't remember his name in the movie) met his demise in the park jeep...
Apologize for not keeping up with your previous AZ images... all great images.

How was such delicate sculpting of the sandstone created? And those lovely striations of subtle color! Gosh!
